What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?
Talking about health will be a part of the main blog but I’ll give tastes from time to time in the writing prompts. To be honest my health isn’t amazing. It needs to be better and that starts with my weight. I’m too heavy and have been trying to lose weight in and off again for several years. The lowest I’ve been since I’ve gotten married is 236. The heaviest at 275. Right now I’m really close to 250 and trying to lose some more!
I’m trying to do that through walking and having a restrained diet. Nothing crazy just, restraining the number of calories I take in, or creating a deficit in calories via exercises. It’s been effective to the tune of 5 lbs in a month. I am ok with slow but steady results. Drastic weight loss almost always comes back with a vengeance. The main way I know I’m in a deficit is by counting my calories.
Counting calories hold you responsible against your own goals. Honestly it’s also a wake up call when you track a snack that’s putting you in to the 3000 calorie club. Not a good club to be a part of unless you’re working out a ton or trying to gain weight.
Staying healthy is hard and I’ll talk about it more in future posts for now my health and wellness are protected by a spreadsheet and doggie walks. And I’m ok with that for now.
Let’s get down!
