A long time ago I was in the boy scouts and the motto goes “Be Prepared”. I’d love to have something profound to be prepared with here but I have very few things that I take with me daily. Everyone has phonekeyswallet, but I bring along with me something for everyone. I call them go bags. Little bags that fit the occasion I’m heading out in to.
I switch between being a stay at home dad and an Uber driver so my go bags differ a little. The things I make sure to have with me all the time are almost always cleaning supplies and snacks. With my boy’s a change of diapers, wipes, and snacks to keep the littles happy. For Uber I have water, wipes, and… snacks to keep the big’s happy. Ok, so maybe it’s a very similar go bag, but for very different people. I’m in charge of taking care of both groups even if one is supposed to be a bit more self sufficient. Making sure I have supplies to take care of people really goes a long way in making everyone’s day pleasant. If I’m having to deploy wipes and snacks somebody’s day is not going perfect!
One of the things that people find comforting about their homes is that they have emergency supplies to cover most every occasion. By making sure the little things are with me everyday I bring a level of comfort along wherever I go. I try to be supportive and make sure people get where they are going comfortably. Whether it’s bridging that gap between meals or making sure you’ve got proper hydration along with any other crazy liquids, I’ve got you with my go bags!
