In the heart of our home, the kitchen, hangs a map – a vivid representation of our shared adventures and dreams. Green dots mark the places we’ve been fortunate to explore, while pink dots eagerly await their turn, representing the destinations we yearn to visit. With each dot comes a story, a memory etched into the tapestry of our lives.

As we glance at the map, it’s a kaleidoscope of experiences: the bustling streets of cities we wandered, serene beaches where we lounged, and the uncharted territories still waiting to be discovered. Yet, if I were to pick a favorite, it would undoubtedly be Puerto Rico.

Our visit to Puerto Rico was far from ordinary. In the midst of our exploration, the island was in turmoil. The then-governor was facing unprecedented protests and was eventually ousted from office. However, amidst the chaos, what we witnessed was a resilient community united by passion. Millions of people gathered, standing shoulder to shoulder, demanding change.

Before the political upheaval, we reveled in the vibrant culture and warmth of Puerto Rico. Nights were filled with laughter in lively nightclubs, days were spent marveling at historic forts, and the lush landscapes of the national forest beckoned us for exploration. We even had the extraordinary experience of scuba diving alongside majestic turtles.

All these incredible moments were shared with my amazing wife. Together, we immersed ourselves in the beauty of Puerto Rico, not just in its landscapes but also in the hearts of its people. The memories created during those days are etched in our minds, forming a tapestry of love, adventure, and resilience.

Despite the chaos, I would return to Puerto Rico in a heartbeat. The experience, the people, and the spirit of the island left an indelible mark on our souls. Now, as my wife embarks on a girls’ trip, and my boys’ trips lean more towards non-tropical escapades, I find myself yearning for the next adventure. There is still so much left to explore in this vast world.
